Defibrillator installation and training at Albert Park (May 5)

The APLC was successful in our application for a defibrillator when Victorian State government grants were provided.  You can find our emergency plan here (the website contains all up to date information on the APL). It may be overkill in some way to have a defibrillator, but they are recognised as lifesavers for those having heart issues. Heart attacks can happen to anyone, ranging from experienced players, to novices — particularly as they start the sport for the first time and start running again — to spectators.

The intent is that the defibrillator will be made available for club and UV tournaments, assuming people have been trained in its operation, and on the proviso that it is returned by 6pm on Mondays in time for League.

The installation and associated training on use will be happening on Saturday 5th May 2018, from approximately 10.00am to 12.00noon, at the Cox-McKenzie Pavillion on Hockey Drive off Aughtie Drive. St John Ambulance will be providing the training and installation. All are encouraged to attend if you are interested: we need five people minimum to be present for the training. Please let us know if you are interested.
